Pattern: Simplicity 8792, View E  

Description: Misses Skirt with Front and Length Variations  

Supplies: Brother Innovis, Disney Edition ( I JUST GOT THIS BABY!! It’s a dream!), Lightweight fusible interfacing (did not use for this make)  

Fabric: Joann.com - Item #: 1299411, Sew Classics Linen Look Fabric Solid in the color Honey 

 Buttons: Tabitha Sewer.com, Tortoise Classic Circle Button - .59 in. Color: Copper, and Thread, in Sunflower  

Sewing Level: Beginner to Average 

Alterations

I took in a quarter inch on the side and back seams. Did not add all the buttons to the front slit. I added an inch to the length.  

Pros

Easy sew, not too many pattern pieces and I love that there are so many variations. The possibilities are endless. I plan to make more with a color block option, or alternate fabric option. 

Cons

I rated this between beginner and average because of the band. I wouldn’t make it again without interfacing. Because of the pandemic, I could not find any interfacing for the band, so it wasn’t as sturdy as I wanted. There were too many buttons for my taste, so I decided to just add buttons to the band. The bottom and back flared out and made the look very dated. I wanted a more tapered look at the bottom.
